Thanks to Javier Milei, fewer and fewer salaries are needed to buy a car.

The data comes from a study that analyzes the number of average salaries needed to purchase a vehicle

In a context of strong economic growth and recovery of real wages, a report by the consulting firm Econométrica revealed a significant fact that highlights this new stage Argentina is experiencing.

According to the study, today it takes 17.4 average salaries to buy a brand new car, the lowest figure in recent years. This indicator not only reflects an improvement in purchasing power in relation to durable goods, but also fits into a scenario of greater macroeconomic stability under the administration of Javier Milei.

The president, in response to those who question the economic recovery, deny or lie with the data, wrote this Friday on his official X account: "There are IDIOTS who say that there are many people coming out of poverty but who feel worse (besides how ignorant they are for not knowing the basics of the labor supply). End".

The president wrote this citing the Econométrica report, showing with data the real recovery of access to key goods for Argentine workers.

According to the report, the value of an average car, in relation to an average salary, is now more affordable than at least in the last five years. The consulting firm also clarifies that in the 1990s it took just 12 average salaries to buy a car, and shows that the highest point was reached during February 2024, when 31.4 salaries were needed to buy a vehicle.

That date coincides with the difficult period the country went through as a result of the severe economic crisis inherited from Kirchnerism, which would have caused hyperinflation if not for the great work carried out by Milei's government.

In this context, it is also noteworthy that the first half of the year shows a solid recovery of the automotive market, with increases in registrations, production, wholesale sales, and exports.

The explanation behind this improvement includes variables such as a more predictable economy, the reappearance of lines of credit, the opening of imports, and price transparency, which caused a greater supply of brands and models, intensifying competition and promoting a relative decrease in prices.

This set of factors responds to the structural reform program promoted by Milei's government, based on deregulation, fiscal balance, and market freedom. The results are beginning to be seen in concrete areas of daily life, such as the possibility of dreaming again of owning a car.
