Thanks to Milei, 82% of businesspeople expect an improvement in the economy in 2026.
Moreover, more than half of business owners believe that this year will bring better results for their companies
The majority of businesspeople who are part of the Instituto para el Desarrollo Empresarial de la Argentina (IDEA) anticipate that next year will be much better for the economy overall, and 52% believe that 2025 will bring better results for their own company.
The survey, conducted in June, did not yet reflect the impact of recent tensions in the economy caused by Kirchnerism's attempts to destroy the fiscal surplus in Congress. "We are in a band of optimism," summarized Santiago Mignone, president of IDEA, regarding the survey.
The annual survey, which included the opinions of 257 executives, showed an optimistic outlook. According to the results, 82% of businesspeople believe that the economy will improve during the next year compared to the current situation. Of this group, 58% project a "moderate" improvement and 24% a "significant" one. In contrast, only 10% anticipate a worsening and 8% believe there will be no changes.

Regarding the last twelve months, businesspeople mainly valued the deceleration of inflation, macroeconomic stabilization, elimination of currency controls, and fiscal balance, milestones achieved by Javier Milei's government.
Looking ahead, regarding the main macroeconomic variables, the expectation of a marked deceleration of inflation persists: 21% of respondents believe it will decrease "significantly" and 53% believe it will do so "moderately."
Regarding their own companies, 52% of executives indicated that the current situation of their companies is better than it was a year ago. This percentage rises to 58% in the case of firms in the services sector and stands at 45% among industries.

Regarding employment, 33% anticipate an increase in the coming months, while 42% expect it to remain stable. Meanwhile, half of businesspeople project increasing investment in their companies during the next year, although about a third foresee a drop in profitability, mainly attributed to the decrease in inflation.
Meanwhile, inflation, which previously ranked as the main concern for businesspeople, is now in fourth place, with 18% of responses.
The survey, conducted in June of this year, included both large companies and SMEs from various productive sectors. Of those surveyed, 65% belong to large companies and 35% to SMEs, while 58% correspond to the services sector.
