After more than 100 years of chronic deficits, Argentina has achieved a fiscal surplus, a feat that places it in a privileged position worldwide.
Under the administration of President Javier Milei, the country became one of the four countries in the world that maintain sustained fiscal balance, sharing this select group with Australia, Denmark, and Norway.
This achievement is significant, as it is the first time in over a century that the Argentine state spends less than it collects, while also paying off its debt.

However, people have recently witnessed how the opposition, especially Kirchnerism, is seeking in every possible way to destroy this historic achievement. This is not surprising, since thanks to the fiscal surplus, the libertarian administration achieved a drastic reduction in inflation, a sharp drop in poverty, and a significant economic recovery, something Kirchnerism can't tolerate.
This transformation was made possible by strict economic discipline, driven by an austerity program and macroeconomic order centered on the elimination of the fiscal deficit, which for decades was the root of the inflationary crisis, structural poverty, and economic stagnation.
For this reason, the government presents fiscal balance not only as an accounting goal, but as a moral principle: not spending what one doesn't have and not mortgaging the future of generations with debt, monetary issuance, and crisis.

In addition to the domestic impact, Argentina was recognized by prestigious international financial institutions, which acknowledged the country's unprecedented effort to correct its course. Joining the small group of countries with a fiscal surplus alongside wealthy economies such as Norway and Denmark is a sign of the new prestige the country is beginning to regain in international markets.
However, these achievements have caused resistance. Recently, from the opposition, especially Kirchnerist senators, bills were approved that seek to destroy the surplus through increased spending, which would generate a new crisis. Nevertheless, Milei's government has already warned that it will veto any attempt to break the surplus and destroy the country.
President Milei will defend fiscal balance with everything he has, because he knows that the present and future well-being of all Argentines depends on this concept.
