Boca received an offer from a European club for Milton Delgado, but rejected it.
With Russo's arrival at Xeneize, the midfielder went from being a starter to the fifth option, and his future remains open
Milton Delgado went from being an undisputed figure and receiving praise from Leandro Paredes to barely appearing as the fifth option in Miguel Ángel Russo's consideration, who didn't give him a single minute in the Club World Cup. In this scenario, several Argentine clubs tried to sign him on loan, but the midfielder wants to stay and fight for his place or, if no opportunity arises at Boca, seek a destination in Europe.
The first concrete offer came from Türkiye: Besiktas sent a proposal of 4.8 million euros plus another million based on objectives. However, the club from La Ribera considered it insufficient. Now, it remains to be seen whether the Turkish club will raise the amount or if another interested party will appear willing to pay the seven or eight million dollars the Football Council led by Juan Román Riquelme is seeking.
Russo's arrival changed everything
Delgado had excelled under the management of Fernando Gago and Mariano Herrón, taking control of the midfield for Xeneize. However, he lost his place with Russo: Battaglia established himself as the starting central midfielder (even though he had arrived as a center-back), while in the double pivot rotation, Ander Herrera came first, then Tomás Belmonte, and later Williams Alarcón.

This way, Delgado was relegated despite his strong start to the year, a change that surprises both inside and outside the club. Meanwhile, Boca rules out loaning him and is waiting for an offer that comes closer to their expectations before making a final decision about his future.
