The Garrahan Hospital was chosen as one of the best-equipped healthcare facilities in Argentina and all of Latin America, according to the HospiRank 2026 ranking prepared by the international consulting firm Global Health Intelligence (GHI).
This distinction reflects the impact of a comprehensive modernization process carried out by the Government of Javier Milei that strengthened the hospital's technological infrastructure, raising the standards of care for children and adolescents across the country.
The report was based on the evaluation of approximately 19,000 healthcare institutions, both public and private, representing nearly 90% of hospitals in the region. The analysis included more than 140 key indicators.

In this context, Garrahan stood out particularly in three central areas: Hospital Capacity, Advanced Imaging Equipment, and Cancer Treatment Equipment, positioning itself as a benchmark in high-complexity pediatric medicine.
The Modernization of the Hospital
One of the most significant advances in this modernization process is the introduction of a unique linear accelerator in the region. This state-of-the-art equipment will allow for the treatment of nearly 50% of children with cancer in Argentina.
Additionally, along with a new tomotherapy simulator, it lays the groundwork for the creation of the country's first Pediatric Radiotherapy Center, a development considered historic for the public health system.
The renovation also encompassed multiple areas of the hospital. 310 hospital beds, 18 surgical tables, and six biosafety cabinets for laboratories were added.
Moreover, five C-arm machines for high-precision interventions and a ophthalmic surgical microscope were included. The institution noted that this set of improvements represents an "excellent complement" to the highly qualified human resources, expanding the response capacity to the growing demand.

In an official statement, the hospital emphasized the impact of this investment policy: "When resources are managed responsibly and invested where it truly matters, the result is a more modern hospital, with better tools for our professionals and higher quality care for the children".
For his part, the Minister of Health, Mario Lugones, highlighted that Garrahan is undergoing an unprecedented transformation driven by the incorporation of advanced technology. Among the most relevant developments, he mentioned the linear accelerator and the tomotherapy simulator, implemented in conjunction with the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA), as pillars for the launch of the new pediatric radiotherapy center.
The official also linked these advances to the decision to organize the hospital's finances, which allowed for the financing of key equipment and maintaining a process of continuous improvement. In this regard, he stated that the international recognitions reaffirm the adopted course, consolidating Garrahan as the main reference in high-complexity pediatric care in the region.
The positioning achieved in the HospiRank 2026 ranking not only reflects the quality of the equipment but also the result of the successful strategy of Milei's Government focused on optimizing resources and prioritizing investments in critical areas.
