In that atmosphere of anguish and uncertainty, audio recordings that several students sent to their parents while they were hiding inside the classrooms were leaked. The messages, filled with fear but also with clarity and courage, reflect the trauma experienced by the minors during the school takeover.
One of the most impactful audio recordings was broadcast during the program Mujeres Argentinas (eltrece). In it, a teenage girl tries to remain calm while explaining to her mother what is happening.
"Mom, please don't come. We're all here in the classroom. Dimi is with us and the teacher. The girl wants to kill the math teacher, who's here. She's out there shooting everywhere. Mom, please don't come," the minor emphasized.
Despite the evident fear, the student tries to protect her mother from any external risk, aware that many parents were desperately approaching the school: "Everyone is calling their parents, but don't come. We don't have lockers, we don't have anything, and the desks are full, we're all under the desks."
Journalist Pampa Mónaco, who analyzed the case on television, highlighted the emotional maturity with which the teenagers tried to communicate with their families: "It's a student who sends an audio message to her mother explaining what was happening. She tried to calm her down, but the fear is evident. It's a raw testimony."
Los docentes coincidieron en que la menor tenía un alto rendimiento académico y era muy tranquila hasta antes de este episodio
During the operation, the crisis protocol for situations involving weapons inside educational institutions was activated. The school was partially evacuated while the minor remained with the weapon in her hand, barricaded in one of the building's common areas. Negotiation teams, psychologists, and members of Mendoza Police Special Forces worked at the scene, who managed to get the student to surrender without causing any fatalities.
