The differences between Prince Harry and King Charles regarding Donald Trump

The monarch's youngest son seems to be on the opposite side in terms of esteem toward the President of the United States.

Prince Harry and King Charles III have shown very different stances regarding Donald Trump. Meanwhile, the British monarch extended an unusual invitation to the President of the United States to visit him at Balmoral Castle, his son used a speech to launch veiled criticisms against leaders with egocentric attitudes and lack of ethics.

King Charles III's stance on Trump

Charles III has maintained a cordial relationship with Trump. Recently, the monarch sent a letter to the U.S. President through the British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, in which he reiterated his invitation for a second state visit to the United Kingdom and also to visit him at Balmoral. This offer was considered an uncommon gesture in British diplomacy, reinforcing the perception of closeness between both leaders.

During a meeting at the White House, Trump praised the king, calling him a "gentleman" upon reading his letter

Harry's criticisms and his apparent disdain for Trump

Hours after his father's invitation to Trump, Prince Harry participated in the Upfront Summit investors' summit in Los Angeles. There, without mentioning names, he criticized leaders who sacrifice morality and empathy for power and control, which many interpreted as a direct allusion to Trump and Elon Musk.

"This would be a good time to talk about how sick leadership in all sectors, from political to technological, can have a detrimental effect on millions, or even billions, of people," Harry stated, hinting at his discontent with certain public figures.

The tensions between the Duke of Sussex and Trump are not new. Earlier this month, Harry complained about "the lack of morality in the world" at an Invictus Games event, just after Trump called Meghan Markle "horrible." Additionally, the U.S. President has openly expressed his dislike for the Duchess of Sussex, who in the past labeled him a misogynist and urged a Democratic vote.

Meanwhile, Charles III maintains a diplomatic relationship with Trump, Harry has chosen to express his rejection of figures he considers lacking in ethics. These differences reinforce the ideological gap between father and son on the global political stage.
