The extremely harsh messages to Boca's squad ahead of their match in Mendoza

During Saturday night, a group of fans hung two banners outside the hotel where the team was staying

Boca's sports crisis added a new chapter this Saturday. Outside the Mendoza hotel where the squad was staying, two banners with messages full of reproach toward the players appeared, just hours before the match against Independiente Rivadavia for matchday 5 of the Clausura Tournament.

"Boca's jersey must be sweated," read one of the phrases, part of a historic song by La Doce, which in its full version becomes even harsher: "If not, don't wear it, leave, stop stealing!".

Next to that banner, another message was even more explicit and direct: "You are at Boca, respect the jersey and its people." None of the banners were signed, so it was not possible to determine which group of fans hung them at the site.

The appearance of these signs comes in the most delicate context in Xeneize's football history: the team has gone twelve matches without a victory, the worst streak in its institutional life. Since Miguel Ángel Russo's return to the bench, the team has a worrying record of five draws and three defeats. The last moment of joy was in April with a 2-0 win over Estudiantes, still with Fernando Gago as head coach.

Meanwhile, tonight's match appears as a turning point. Boca is second to last in zone A with just three points, although a win could return it to the Libertadores qualification zone through the annual table. After Argentinos's defeat against Huracán, Xeneize has the chance to regain ground and use one of the last opportunities left to qualify for the 2026 edition.
