This way, they arrived at Área Material Río Cuarto in Córdoba, completing a journey that had begun at the end of November
This Friday, the six F-16 fighter jets acquired by the Government of Javier Milei from Denmark finally entered Argentine territory, completing a journey that began at the end of November and brought them to the province of Córdoba.
The landing took place at the Área Material Río Cuarto, located in the town of Las Higueras, where the reception and official presentation activities will be concentrated.
The Government announced that President Javier Milei will participate in the formal ceremony for the incorporation of the F-16 A/B Fighting Falcon, although the schedule had to be modified due to the forecast of storms for the weekend. The ceremony was originally scheduled for Sunday the 7th, but will be moved up to Saturday the 6th for meteorological reasons. According to reports, entry to the premises will be allowed at 7 a.m. and the main event will take place at 9.
The aircraft, four two-seater F-16BMs and two single-seater F-16AMs, departed from Denmark on November 28. On their journey to the country, they made technical stops in Zaragoza, Spain, and later in the Canary Islands, before undertaking the final leg to Argentine territory.
For the Executive Branch, their acquisition constitutes “a strategic milestone that consolidates the recovery of supersonic interception capability and strengthens the defense of national airspace,” a definition that underscores the importance of the newly incorporated equipment.

The presentation of the F-16s
The presentation of the F-16s will not be limited to the Córdoba base. The Ministry of Defense released a schedule of activities that includes an aerial demonstration with high public visibility. On Saturday morning, the fighter jets are expected to take off from Las Higueras and perform a low-altitude flight of approximately 15 minutes over various points in Buenos Aires City before returning to Córdoba.
For their flyover in the Federal Capital, the aircraft will enter via the Río de la Plata and follow a route that will include the Casa Rosada, Avenida de Mayo, Avenida 9 de Julio, and a pass over Aeroparque Jorge Newbery. The itinerary also includes a route through the Retiro area and the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense, thus providing an opportunity for exhibition at several of the city's most iconic locations.
With the incorporation of these six F-16s, Argentina is adding for the first time in its history combat aircraft of this technological level, a step that Milei's Government considers essential to modernize the operational capacity of the Air Force.
