Reallocation of Treasury funds
The budget increase will be financed by a reduction in the allocations assigned to Treasury Obligations, totaling $35,832,000,000
The official document states that the Executive seeks to "address, within the current budgetary availability, the needs raised by Congress" upon enacting Law 27,796, which declared a health emergency in pediatric care and medical residencies.
Although the implementation of the law was suspended due to fiscal responsibility issues, the government decided to move forward with an internal reallocation to cover priority expenses in hospitals and medical programs. This measure demonstrates a genuine interest in improving the situation of these individuals, and the seriousness of doing so after the elections, avoiding populism with the vulnerabilities of a certain sector.
Main beneficiaries
El hospital Garrahan fue uno de los mayores beneficiarios de esta medida.
The increase includes:
$20.18 billion for Hospital Garrahan.
$5.11 billion for the healthcare human resources training program.
$3.38 billion allocated to high-complexity hospitals such as El Cruce (Florencio Varela), SAMIC El Calafate, Cuenca Alta Néstor Kirchner, René Favaloro and Presidente Néstor Kirchner.
Additionally, $7.16 billion in figurative expenses were reassigned to decentralized agencies, including Hospital Laura Bonaparte, Hospital Sommer, Posadas, Ramón Carrillo, and the Southern Psychophysical Rehabilitation Institute.
Government's commitment to human capital
Javier Milei reconoce la importancia del Capital Humano y se ocupa de ello.
The measure is part of the Executive's intention to guarantee the continuity of pediatric care and the strengthening of human resources in health, as it recognizes the importance of caring for our country's human capital.
The increase comes just days after the legislative elections and the release of new allocations for disability benefits, which shows responsibility in the timing of these measures, while also deciding to make enormous economic efforts to avoid neglecting these sensitive sectors without compromising fiscal balance.
