The ruling party achieved a key victory in the Chamber of Deputies on Tuesday by securing the majority report for the 2026 Budget, after an intense debate that marked the return of political initiative to Javier Milei's government.
With support from PRO, the UCR, and provincial legislators, La Libertad Avanza (LLA) reached the 20 signatures needed to prevail in the Budget Committee, chaired by Bertie Benegas Lynch, who broke the tie with his vote and celebrated the result on his birthday.

The newly appointed Minister of the Interior, Diego "Colo" Santilli, played a central role in the negotiations. He personally participated in the committee and requested that the floor debate take place after December 10, when the new deputies are sworn in. "Society voted for change, and that change must also be reflected in the budget debate," he stated.
The maneuver was interpreted as a political victory for the new parliamentary coordination team composed of Karina Milei, Patricia Bullrich, Santilli, and Martín Menem, the core group responsible for coordinating the relationship between Casa Rosada and Congress.
The bill reaffirms the path of fiscal balance and reduction of public spending, with a projection of lower spending relative to GDP in three decades and the prohibition of Treasury financing by the Central Bank. In Balcarce 50, officials celebrated the result as a sign of strength and economic predictability for the markets.
