The two penalties that could give points to Colapinto after the Zandvoort GP
The Argentine finished 11th in the Netherlands, half a second behind Ocon, but could still enter the top 10 if the investigations against Russell and Tsunoda are successful
The Dutch Grand Prix delivered a spectacle full of emotion as Formula 1 returned after a month-long break. Oscar Piastri's victory, which consolidates him at the top of the Constructors' Championship, was combined with the retirements of Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, and Lando Norris, leaving an unexpected scenario at Zandvoort.
In this context, Franco Colapintodelivered his best performance of the season and since joining Alpine. The Argentine finished in eleventh position, just half a second behind Esteban Ocon, who closed out the top 10. The result caused frustration for the Buenos Aires native, since between the team's strategy and Pierre Gasly's resistance to let him pass, the chance to score his first point of the current season slipped away.
However, the classification could still change. FIA is keeping several investigations open that could alter the final order. One of them involves George Russell, who was summoned for contact with Leclerc in the opening laps. If he receives a ten-second penalty, similar to those applied to Carlos Sainz and Kimi Antonelli for irregular maneuvers, the Mercedes driver would drop from fourth to eleventh place.

Another situation under review is Yuki Tsunoda's. The Japanese Red Bull driver executed an illegal maneuver against Gasly in the final stretch of the race, leaving him with no room on track and overtaking him in a non-compliant manner. Tsunoda finished ninth, but he could lose his place if the action is penalized.

If any of these penalties are confirmed, Colapinto would move up to tenth place and finally earn his first point as an Alpine driver. Thus, what was initially anger over a missed opportunity could turn into a historic reward for the young Argentine in Zandvoort.
