There are more U.S. military personnel in Los Angeles than in Iraq and Syria.
Donald Trump's administration significantly reinforced the military presence in Los Angeles following the violent riots
In a context of violent riots by the far left and illegal Mexican immigrants in several cities across the United States, the Government of Donald Trump significantly reinforced the military presence in Los Angeles, reaching a deployment of 4,800 troops, a figure that already exceeds the number of U.S. troops stationed in Iraq and Syria.
The measure, adopted by President Trump's administration, seeks to restore public order and guarantee the safety of citizens in the face of protests that have led to episodes of violence.

According to a report by ABC News, this military mobilization constitutes one of the largest domestic security operations in decades and responds to increasingly frequent and coordinated riots in different parts of the West Coast, including San Francisco, Santa Ana and especially Seattle, where radicalized protesters burned American flags in an act of open hostility toward Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Far from being simple peaceful expressions of discontent, the protests have caused serious security concerns. In Austin (Texas), four police officers were injured during clashes with violent groups. Meanwhile, riots and looting were reported in cities such as Chicago and Denver, increasing the level of tension and forcing federal authorities to act with determination.

President Trump has vigorously defended the deployment, describing it as a necessary action to protect Americans from the chaos promoted by radicalized groups.
The protests, which began last Friday after federal immigration raids that resulted in more than 40 arrests, intensified over the weekend. Protesters blocked highways, set vehicles on fire and vandalized buildings, while law enforcement replied with tear gas, rubber bullets and stun grenades.
Although some riots have subsided, arrests and confrontations persist. Dozens of people were detained over the weekend, including individuals who threw Molotov cocktails or rammed police officers with motorcycles.
