National deputy and candidate for senator for La Libertad Avanza, Pablo Cervi, was the victim of a brutal assault at his home in Neuquén, where criminals beat him and pointed a gun at him. The attack occurred on Saturday night and put his life and that of his family, who witnessed the incident, at risk, just hours before the start of the legislative elections.
After the incident, Cervi publicly denounced the absence of police and the collapse of emergency services. “Neuquén is an unprotected zone. 101 doesn't work,” wrote the deputy on his X (formerly Twitter) account, accompanying the message with an image showing the aftermath of the attack.

People close to him reported that, when trying to contact the local emergency number, the line did not respond and the police took more than half an hour to arrive at the scene. “The area was unprotected,” warned those close to the legislator, in a context of growing insecurity that had already prompted previous neighborhood complaints.
The incident occurred during the electoral ban, amid a climate of political tension and concern for the safety of candidates and voters. “It is extremely serious that just hours before the election, episodes like this occur, and that there is no immediate response from the provincial forces,” sources close to the party stated.
Meanwhile, the libertarian ruling party doesn't rule out that the attack had a political intimidation background, aimed at instilling fear and altering the electoral climate in the province. They point out that it was not an ordinary robbery, but an incident with “atypical” characteristics due to the violence and the timing.

While the Prosecutor's Office and the provincial police are working on the investigation, experts collected fingerprints and traces in the house. Cervi filed the complaint with the Argentine Federal Police, which is coordinating efforts with local authorities.
Despite the impact of the violent episode, the deputy is out of danger and willing to continue with the democratic day. People close to him confirmed that Cervi is in good condition and thanked for the expressions of support received after the attack.
