Founder of 'Al Ángulo TV,' a pirate sports streaming site, is arrested
The police arrested Alejo Warles, also known as 'Shishi,' who was responsible for a website and application that illegally broadcasted soccer and Formula 1 matches, among others
Officers from the San Isidro DDI, together with the Operational Unit Division (DUOF) of the Federal Police in Paraná, Entre Ríos, arrested Alejo Leonel Warles, known as "Shishi," founder of "Al Ángulo TV," a portal and application considered one of the main audiovisual piracy operators in Latin America.
The arrest was carried out after a raid at his residence, ordered by the San Isidro Guarantees Court No. 4, presided over by Judge Esteban Eduardo Rossignoli, as part of an investigation by the Specialized Prosecutorial Unit for Cybercrime Investigation (UFEIC). During the operation, computers, cell phones, and other technological equipment were seized, as well as funds stored in virtual wallets and cryptocurrency accounts linked to the illicit activity.
According to the investigation, Al Ángulo TV operated with 14 mirror domains that replicated live sporting events and had an application for Android, increasing its reach and consolidating its position alongside the MAGIS TV app as one of the main piracy channels in the country. Both the website and the app caused revenue through informal advertising, exposing users to risks such as malware and theft of personal data.

The statement from the Alliance Against Audiovisual Piracy highlighted the collaboration of LaLiga from Spain and noted that Warles centralized the dissemination, monetization, and administration of the clandestine network. On social media, "Shishi" had displayed defiance in the face of possible arrests, celebrating his audience on platforms such as YouTube and X and claiming that "nobody could catch him". After his arrest, he stopped making public statements.
The case is part of recent regional actions against piracy, which include dynamic DNS and IP blocking, removal of illegal applications from digital stores, and the coordination of the first anti-piracy "War Room" in Argentina. The strategies also include cooperation with e-commerce platforms such as Mercado Libre.
