The Federal Justice took the case due to undeclared assets after prosecutor Mondino stepped down for lack of jurisdiction. The case file was assigned to federal prosecutor Maximiliano Hairabedian, who is already investigating González for alleged illicit enrichment and money laundering. Currently, the former legislator must serve house arrest in Traslasierra within that criminal framework.
González allegedly concealed properties and declared amounts lower than the fiscal appraisal, with a significant increase in his assets between 1999 and 2019. Prosecutor Hairabedian has already ordered seizures for about 424 thousand dollars, a precautionary measure that also affects his family to prevent fraudulent maneuvers. Additionally, the transfer of properties to relatives after the tragedy in Altas Cumbres is being investigated as part of the alleged laundering scheme reported.
The case began after it became known that González did not include all his properties in his sworn asset declaration. The portal El Doce revealed irregularities in the records submitted by the former official, which added another front to his delicate judicial situation. Hairabedian accepted jurisdiction after the anticorruption court recused itself, so the Federal Justice now handles almost all asset-related cases.

González is also charged in Córdoba for the crash in Altas Cumbres for manslaughter and aggravated negligent injuries. For that case, he requested probation in order to compensate the victims and avoid a public trial.
