Córdoba: Oscar González's assets are seized for alleged illicit enrichment
The measure also extends to the children of the former Córdoba legislator and accounts for a total of 424 thousand dollars
The former legislator, detained after a traffic accident in Traslasierra in 2022, is now under investigation for alleged illicit enrichment and money laundering. Chamber A of the Federal Court of Appeals of Córdobaordered the seizure of US$424,000 in personal assets belonging to him and his family.
Judge Miguel Hugo Vaca Narvaja was the one who ordered this seizure, because "there is evidence that allows for a provisional suspicion regarding the existence of the events and González's involvement."
If the assets turn out to be nonexistent or insufficient for the seizure, a general prohibition on their disposal will be applied as a preventive measure.

Meanwhile, the Cordoba judiciary doesn't link this new investigation to the 2022 traffic accident. This is because the former legislator is already serving house arrest for that incident.
This alleged money laundering was charged by prosecutor Maximiliano Hairabedian, who relied on the complaint filed by legislator Luciana Echevarría. The complaint, submitted to the judiciary in 2024, questioned the transfers and movements of assets that González allegedly made to his relatives after the traffic accident.
Based on this, prosecutor Hairabedian charged González with illicit enrichment and money laundering, since he could not justify his increase in assets compared to his income.

The case in which he will be tried for murder
It should also be noted that the former legislator will stand trial after being accused of causing the death of a teacher in a crash that occurred in Traslasierra in October 2022.
Regarding this case, the Cura Brochero Prosecutor's Office closed the investigation last year and requested that he be convicted of "aggravated involuntary manslaughter and aggravated involuntary injuries."
The investigation began after the accident occurred on the Camino de las Altas Cumbres, just a few kilometers from the town of Mina Clavero. That day, the Peronist leader crashed his BMW X1 into a Renault Sandero in which Alejandra Bengoa, her daughter Marina, and her friend Alexa, both 14 years old, were traveling.

As a result of testimonial analysis, prosecutor Analía Gallarato indicated that González drove in a reckless, negligent, or unlawful manner, since the SUV he was driving was not in compliance with regulations.
In this regard, the vehicle had been seized and delivered to the Córdoba Legislature for official use, and the former provisional president did not have the necessary permits to drive it.

After concluding the investigation, the Prosecutor's Office requested that the case be brought to trial, stating that there is sufficient evidence to prove the defendant's guilt.
