A journalistic investigation exposed by Luis Gasulla on the Luis Majul por LN+ program has once again put the Kirchnerist administration of Axel Kicillof under scrutiny for a multimillion-dollar purchase of toys intended for the celebrations of Children's Day in the province of Buenos Aires.
According to the journalist's revelations during the program, the provincial government allocated around $5,000 million (about USD 3.3 million according to the reported calculation) for the acquisition of toys that were to be distributed among children in Buenos Aires. However, according to the investigation presented on air, the administrative procedure was delayed and the products may not have been distributed by the scheduled date.
The available public documentation confirms that the Ministry of Community Development, led by Andrés Larroque, initiated public tender 9/2026 for the “acquisition of toys” in 2026, with an official budget of $4,935,100,000. The terms also included the possibility of increasing the awarded amount by up to 100% under certain circumstances.
Alleged overpricing and a questionable purchase
During his presentation on LN+, Gasulla also reported the existence of alleged overpricing within the operation. The controversy is not new for the provincial administration: in 2025, another toy purchase for $5,155 million had come under scrutiny due to discrepancies between offered values and prices available in the retail market.
In that case, for example, an investigation had pointed out million-dollar differences in products such as bubble makers and buckets with plastic blocks, in addition to questioning that some of the items included institutional identification from the provincial government.

The controversy is even greater because, according to the report presented by Gasulla, the provincial administration would have proceeded with a multimillion-dollar expenditure for a specific celebration but the delays in the state procedure ultimately frustrated the original goal of distributing the toys for Children's Day.
The case thus represents another example of the administrative disorder of an administration that constantly demands greater resources from the National Government while maintaining doubtful multimillion-dollar expenditures whose execution is again under scrutiny; the focus once again falls on the priorities of Kicillof's government, in a province where insecurity continues to be a central concern for residents.
