The federal prosecutor of Lomas de Zamora, Sergio Mola, requested on Friday the detention of former Kirchnerist mayor Martín Insaurralde in the context of the case investigating him for illicit enrichment. The request was submitted to federal judge Luis Armella, who must now decide whether to grant the judicial request.
The measure comes just days after the release of a series of videos that worsened the situation of the former head of the Buenos Aires Cabinet during Axel Kicillof's administration. In those images, recorded by Jesica Cirio, millions of dollars are seen stored in various areas of the home that Insaurralde owns in San Vicente.
According to the case, the audiovisual material shows money stored in drawers, bags, boxes, and a suitcase inside a dressing room. The release of these recordings prompted new evidence-gathering measures by the Justice, which seeks to determine the authenticity and context of the images.

Among the ordered actions, an on-site inspection of the property located in the private neighborhood "Fincas de San Vicente" was arranged. The objective is to “verify whether the images from the video released in the media, or any that may be added here, were obtained in that location.”
Additionally, starting next week, police officers who participated in the raid conducted in 2023 at the same residence will begin to testify as witnesses. Witnesses from the operation and two domestic workers who worked at the home will also be summoned.
The purpose of these testimonies is for them to “state how the place was arranged at that time and whether the changing area observed in the images published by the media corresponds to the site they observed during the operation.”
