After regaining their freedom, Argentine YouTubers Beni Mármol and Pato Perrotta decided to publicly share what happened during their detention at the Hard Rock Stadium, where they had attended to cover the match between Colombia National Team and Portugal National Team for the 2026 World Cup.
Through a live broadcast on social media, both rejected claims that they had tried to sneak into the stadium and explained that they traveled to the United States with an official accreditation that, according to them, had been arranged by an Argentine media outlet.
The first to speak was Pato Perrotta, who stated that everything started long before the day of their detention. "I want to clarify that we did not sneak in. It all starts when we come to Miami with an official FIFA credential that was given to us by a very, very well-known Argentine public media," he explained while Beni Mármol nodded.
According to him, that accreditation allowed them to work as part of an associated media during the entire World Cup.
"That public media gives you a credential that allows you to attend all the matches held in Mexico and the United States. For example, we had gone to Saudi Arabia-Uruguay, we watched it, filmed stories from inside, and everything," he stated.
He also asserted that the permission was valid for the entire tournament."That credential even allowed access to the final. It was a credential to be a FIFA member as a media partner," he claimed.
