A teacher at a public school in Toronto, Canada, has been suspended after showing students as young as 10 years old a video of the murder of conservative American commentator Charlie Kirk.
The incident took place at Corvette Junior Public School last Thursday, September 11, and has caused a strong reaction from both parents and school authorities.
According to the outlet "Toronto Sun," the teacher, who was not the group's regular instructor but a substitute in charge of a French immersion class, repeatedly showed students an explicit video of Kirk's murder.
Additionally, according to a source cited by the outlet, the teacher accompanied the video with a speech in which he stated that Kirk "deserved" to be murdered, and spoke about "antifascism" and transgender issues.

The students who witnessed the video were in grades 5 and 6, with an average age between 10 and 11 years old. According to media reports, several of them returned home visibly upset and traumatized, and told their parents what had happened in class. As a result, parents contacted the school administration to report the incident.
In response, the school administration acted immediately. The school's principal, Jennifer Koptie, sent an official letter to parents on Friday, September 12, informing them about the incident and the measures taken.
In the letter, Koptie described the situation as "extremely concerning and unacceptable." She clarified that the teacher was removed from all teaching duties while an internal investigation is being conducted. She also assured that the teacher will not return to the school while the case is under review.
