A replica of a bomb was found this Wednesday morning at the headquarters of the National Chamber of Appeals in Criminal and Correctional Matters, located at Viamonte 1147, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of San Nicolás, along with a note written in Arabic that is now under analysis.
The discovery generated a maximum alert situation in a key judicial building and immediately triggered security protocols due to the suspicion of a possible explosive device.
According to reports from the City Police, the intervention began when security personnel at the building alerted that a bag had been thrown inside the premises.
From that moment on, immediate isolation of the area was ordered, and specialized teams were called in to analyze the situation. The procedure included the participation of the Bomb Squad, the Division of Constitutional Crimes, and other technical brigades, which worked in coordination to assess the contents of the object.
For more than two hours, specialists conducted a thorough inspection of the suspicious bag. Finally, they determined that it was a replica of an aerial bomb, without explosive charge or dangerous substances.
Thus, the authorities ruled out any concrete risk to the personnel working in the building and to those passing through the area at the time of the operation.
