President Donald Trump will appoint Dan Scavino, current Deputy Chief of Staff at the White House, as the new head of the Presidential Personnel Office. This job is one of the most influential roles within the government, since it is responsible for deciding who can and who can't be part of the Trump administration.
The information was confirmed by Axios this morning. Scavino succeeds Sergio Gor in the position, whom Trump nominated yesterday, Monday, to serve as Ambassador to India and Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs.
"Dan Scavino is one of President Trump's most trusted and longest-serving advisors," said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. "There is no one better to ensure that the administration is made up of the most qualified, competent, and committed workers to the America First agenda," she emphasized.

Trump's most loyal advisor.
The Republican leader considers Scavino one of his most trusted advisors. The official also stands out for his seniority in the Trump world, since he began working in the orbit of the current president in the early 2000s managing one of his golf clubs.
When Trump launched his presidential bid, Scavino was appointed as social media director during the first 2016 campaign, a position he also held during the Republican's first presidency. Among other duties, Scavino managed Trump's account on the social network Twitter.
He was also one of the few advisors who remained by Trump's side after he left the presidency in 2021 and who was prosecuted by Democrats during the Biden administration, returning to work on the 2024 Republican presidential campaign.
Scavino is expected to bring that loyalty, which allowed him to rise in Trump circles, to the highest level. The brand-new White House personnel director is known for having adopted a zero-tolerance policy toward job applicants, thoroughly reviewing their social media posts and even intervening in their hiring.
