Trump designated Antifa as a terrorist organization in the United States.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, confirmed Wednesday night that he will legally designate the far-left group Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, after one of its members murdered right-wing commentator Charlie Kirk last week. 

"I'm pleased to inform our patriots that I'm designating ANTIFA, a sick, dangerous, and radical leftist disaster, as a major terrorist organization," the President declared on his Truth Social platform. 

The President also stated that he will go after those who finance the activities of the far-left group. "I will also strongly recommend that those who finance ANTIFA be thoroughly investigated in accordance with the highest legal standards and practices. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" he concluded. 

Trump will take further actions to crush leftist violence

Trump communicated his decision while he is abroad for an official state visit. "This is just one of the many actions the President will take to address leftist organizations that fuel political violence," a government official told CNN. 

Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old who is the main suspect in Kirk's murder, had left inscriptions linked to Antifa and the left on the cartridges of the weapon he used to commit the crime. His boyfriend and roommate, a transgender man named Lance Twiggs, was a confessed supporter of former Democratic President Joe Biden. 

Authorities are trying to determine whether Robinson had the collaboration of other armed groups with a Marxist-Leninist tendency. One of these militias under investigation, Armed Queers Salt Lake City, promoted its events at the University of Utah with a flyer showing a young woman dressed with two ammunition belts wielding an AK-47 with her finger on the trigger. 

Although Antifa is not a structured group, in the sense that it doesn't have a defined leadership, its activists have been able to carry out attacks against government buildings. On July 4 of this year, for example, one of its cells ambushed immigration agents in the city of Alvarado, Texas, wounding one of them with an AR-15 rifle.
