Trump wants to designate Antifa as a terrorist organization in the US.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, confirmed on Monday that he will seek to declare the far-left movement Antifa a terrorist organization after a member of this group murdered right-wing commentator Charlie Kirk last week. 

"It's something I'd do, yes, if I had the support of the people who are here. I think I'd start with Pam. If they allow me, I'd do it 100% and with other groups as well, by the way. In any case, Antifa is terrible," emphasized the president, thus delegating this task to the United States Attorney General, Pam Bondi. 

In this regard, the president highlighted that the commission of terrorist acts in the country extends to other radical left-wing groups and not only to Antifa. "We have some pretty radical groups, and they've gotten away with it," Trump stated without giving further details. 

Trump seeks for terrorists to be prosecuted 

Meanwhile, Trump ordered Bondi to investigate Antifa members under the RICO law, a federal legislation that allows the prosecution of criminal organization leaders for crimes committed by their subordinates. "They should go to jail. What they're doing to this country is really subversive," the president asserted. 

Antifa is a far-left group that began to operate sporadically on American soil after Trump first arrived at the White House in 2017. Since then, its activities have intensified, having gained combat experience during the riots sparked by the death of criminal George Floyd in 2020. 

On July 4 of this year, an Antifa cell ambushed an ICE detention center located in the city of Alvarado, Texas. It was reported that the members were dressed in black and equipped with bulletproof vests and AR-15 type rifles, firing between 20 and 30 rounds, one of which struck a migration agent in the neck. 

For the murder of Kirk on a university campus in Utah, authorities have arrested Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old. On the cartridges of the weapon used by the murderer of the conservative leader, inscriptions related to Antifa were found.
