Trump is about to achieve peace in Gaza: Hamas will have to lay down its arms

Donald Trump: 'I hope, for the sake of the Middle East, that Hamas accepts this agreement,' he announced

In a forceful diplomatic move, President Donald Trumpannounced this Tuesday that Israel has agreed to all the proposed conditions to end the war in the Gaza Strip. According to Trump himself, who confirmed it through his Truth Social account, the Israeli government gave its approval to a 60-day ceasefire and committed to advancing a comprehensive peace agreement. The only remaining obstacle is Hamas, which still hasn't renounced violence.

"My representatives held a long and productive meeting today with the Israelis regarding Gaza. Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60-day ceasefire, during which we'll work with all parties to end the war", Trump stated in a post that once again positioned him as a key player on the international stage.

In the message, Trump also highlighted the mediating role of Egypt and Qatar, whom he acknowledged for their diplomatic efforts: "The Qataris and the Egyptians, who have worked hard to achieve peace, will present this final proposal". However, the main focus was on the need for Hamas to accept the terms of the agreement and end hostilities.

"I hope, for the sake of the Middle East, that Hamas accepts this agreement, because the situation won't improve, but will get worse", warned the Republican leader, making it clear that the options are clear: peace or chaos.

The final proposal, backed by Washington, includes an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages held by Hamas, and humanitarian assistance to civilians. All these points have already been accepted by the Israeli government, which constitutes a significant concession given the Jewish state's uncompromising record on security.

Diplomatic activity has been intense in recent hours. The Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs, Ron Dermer, traveled to Washington where he held high-level meetings with U.S. officials close to Trump. According to Israeli media, a four-way strategic conversation took place between Trump himself, Senator Marco Rubio, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Minister Dermer. That summit is said to have been the turning point that allowed the negotiations to move forward.

It should be recalled that last Friday, in statements made from the White House, Trump had already anticipated this outcome: "Next week we'll achieve a ceasefire", he said with the confidence of someone who had already moved the key pieces.

Furthermore, this rapprochement process is not isolated: it is part of a broader strategy linked to the relaunch of the program known as the "Abraham Accords", aimed at consolidating peace between Israel and several moderate Arab states. Trump's intention is clear: to consolidate a stable diplomatic architecture in the Middle East, based on common interests and the definitive abandonment of terrorism as a political tool.
