Recently, Trump formalized the implementation of reciprocal tariffs
In good news for the Argentine economy, President Javier Milei effusively thanked his American counterpart, Donald Trump, for granting Argentina the lowest trade tariffs in the world.
"Friends will be Friends... TMAP. VLLC!", Milei wrote on his social media, in a message of recognition to the president and Republican leader.
This achievement is part of the implementation of reciprocal tariffs, a key policy of Trump aimed at eliminating imbalances in international trade and strengthening the United States economy. With this decision, Argentina positions itself as a privileged nation within the new scheme, guaranteeing highly favorable trade conditions.

"None of our companies are allowed to enter other countries. And I say that, in trade terms, it's about friends and enemies, and in many cases, the friend is worse than the enemy," Trump stated in a forceful speech at the White House.
The economic impact of this policy is immense: it is estimated that the new tariffs will generate up to 600 billion dollars in revenue for the U.S. government. However, Argentina was spared from the punishment and achieved the exclusive benefit of having the lowest tariffs, a reflection of Milei's successful economic diplomacy and his strategic alignment with the free market values advocated by Trump.

The policy of reciprocal tariffs is based on a simple yet forceful premise: if a country charges 10% on American products, the U.S. will apply the same rate on its exports. This strategy aims to curb decades of trade abuses and level the playing field for the American industry.
Trump emphasized that his intention is not to unnecessarily punish other economies, but to establish clear and fair rules. He even left the door open for affected countries to negotiate tariff reductions if they adjust their own policies.
Meanwhile, powers like China will see a 34% increase in their tariffs, Argentina celebrates its privileged position in this new global scenario. Milei's recognition of Trump is no coincidence: the Argentine leader's leadership has brought the country to a place of privilege in international trade.
