The president of the United States, Donald Trump, confirmed to Axios on Wednesday that he will likely make a trip to Israel to deliver a speech before that country's parliament, the Knesset, after securing a peace agreement that halts the war in the Gaza Strip and ensures the return of Israeli hostages.
After the delegates from the various countries participating in the peace negotiations announced the agreement, Trump had a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "He is very happy. He should be. It is a great achievement. The entire world has come together to reach this agreement, including countries that were enemies," the Republican leader said.
Ending the war in Gaza was one of Trump's campaign promises, and the agreement announced on Wednesday is the greatest diplomatic achievement of his second term. If everything proceeds as agreed by the parties, this would be the eighth armed conflict that the Republican government has managed to stop.

Trump will visit Israel on the days when the hostages will be released
In the same call, Netanyahu invited Trump to address the Israeli Parliament. "I will definitely do it if they want me to," the magnate told the aforementioned outlet. The White House confirmed that Trump could depart for the Middle East at some point after undergoing a physical exam on Friday.
