The incident occurred on Monday, June 13, in the René Favaloro Sud neighborhood in Córdoba, when an off-duty police officer was assaulted by four young criminals riding motorcycles. The officer ordered them to stop and drew his service weapon when the criminals threatened him in order to steal his vehicle. During the shootout, a 14-year-old minor was shot in the abdomen and was transported to the Hospital de Niños in critical condition.
Following the incident, the Police launched an operation in the area to apprehend the perpetrators of the attempted robbery. The other three suspects fled the scene and remain at large, while searches are being conducted toward the southwest of Córdoba. Arrest of the two minor assailants
Shortly after the incident, two of the teenagers involved in the attempted robbery were located and arrested. Both remain in police custody pending transfer to the Juvenile Justice system. The investigation is ongoing to clarify their exact roles, verify whether they were armed, and determine if they fired during the attack.
It was reported that the police officer did not sustain serious injuries and continues to cooperate with the investigation.
