The top club tournament in Europe has already assigned venues for two of its upcoming finals. The UEFA has decided that the 2028 final will be held in Munich and that one year later it will be Barcelona the city responsible for hosting the most important match of the Champions League.
In the case of the German city, it had no competition: it was the only candidate to host the 2028 final. Thus, on May 27 of that year the Allianz Arena will once again be the venue for the decisive match for the third time in its history, after 2012, when Bayern lost on penalties to Chelsea, and 2025, in which PSG thrashed Inter 5-0. Additionally, if we count the three finals previously held at the old Olympic Stadium, in 1979, 1993, and 1997, the Bavarian city will reach six finals of the top European tournament.

Jan-Christian Dreesen, CEO of Bayern, celebrated that Munich will host the event again and highlighted the work done to achieve the designation. "We are delighted to host the final for the third time. We want to offer fans another exceptional experience and showcase Munich as a cosmopolitan host city, passionate about sports and well-prepared", he expressed.
One year later, in 2029, the grand event will take place in Barcelona. In this case, there was indeed a competition for the venue, but the Catalan bid, with the support of municipal, regional, and national authorities in Spain, prevailed over Wembley and secured the final's return to Camp Nou three decades after its last presence. The Barcelona stadium has already hosted two European Cup finals. In 1989, Milan defeated Steaua Bucharest 4-0, while in 1999 Manchester United beat Bayern 2-1 with a comeback in the final minutes.
The 2029 final is scheduled for June 2 and will be held at the renovated stadium of the Blaugrana, which is expected to have a capacity of 104,600 spectators. UEFA will closely monitor the progress of the works, which must be completed before the final arrives.

Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, emphasized the importance of the selection and directly linked it to the stadium renovation project. "This is a huge source of pride for FC Barcelona and for all Barcelonans. This decision also represents international recognition for the new Spotify Camp Nou", he stated.
