Díaz emphasized his upcoming meeting with Kirchnerist Governor Kicillof, who is going through an institutional crisis.

Spain's Second Vice President and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz, arrived in Argentina with a clear objective: to support opposition unions and openly criticize the government of Javier Milei.

In her first activity in Buenos Aires, she met with CTERA, an opposition union, and made a series of statements that highlight her far-left ideological stance.

A speech loaded with ideology

During her intervention, Díaz warned that "right-wing governments like Milei's want to weaken and destroy unions", as if this were something bad, and called on unionists to "give hope to workers."

With a activist tone, she stated: "We govern better than they do", in a clear declaration of interference in Argentina's internal politics, which many interpreted as an attempt to impose an interventionist model foreign to the local reality.

Attacks on the right and forced comparisons

The minister did not hold back in her criticisms of the global right, mentioning names like Trump, Meloni, Orbán, Bolsonaro, and, of course, Milei.

In one of her most controversial comparisons, she drew a parallel between the image of the Capitol assault in the US and that of a "chainsaw", a symbol that, according to her, embodies a fraud against democracy. These statements, considered exaggerated by her detractors, highlight a vision marked by ideological confrontation.

Explicit support for opposition unions

Díaz made her alignment with the unions clear, stating emphatically that she is "not neutral" and is "on the side of the unions." In a CTERA auditorium in the Monserrat neighborhood, she addressed union leaders, including Hugo Yasky, Hugo "Cachorro" Godoy, and Roberto Baradel, who received her speech with enthusiasm.

Her call for "economic democracy" emphasized the need for companies to stop being “authoritarian” spaces so that the "social majority" decides the distribution of wealth.

Relationship with the government and political agenda

In a press conference, Díaz emphasized the importance of her upcoming meeting with Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof, whom she considers a key ally for sharing agendas on labor rights, stressing that her visit is part of a political strategy with global overtones.

However, Díaz omitted to mention that Kicillof is going through a crisis in the Province of Buenos Aires due to his poor management in security matters.
