Unbelievable: Chiqui Tapia acknowledged the economic miracle of Javier Milei's government
The president of the AFA spoke about the benefits that economic stability has brought to Argentine football in recent times
Despite having a significant ideological difference with the National Government, the president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio "Chiqui" Tapia, emphasized that the country's current economic context has favored the strengthening of the local football structure and the return of players who became stars at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
In an interview for the program Saque Largo on Win Sports, the official highlighted the importance of economic stability and the impact it has had on Argentine football.
Tapia reconoce el milagro económico de Milei
"It is not insignificant that today we have six world champions playing in the local league. The economy helped create a solid AFA that can develop projects and highly competitive local tournaments," stated the official, alluding to the stability that, according to him, made it possible to implement and sustain long-term sports policies.
Tapia indicated that this economic framework, favored by the measures promoted by the government of Javier Milei, allowed AFA to strengthen its institutional position and invest in development.
"Everything takes time and sometimes decisions are right and sometimes they're not. We truly believe more in projects than in results. We're fortunate to have support at this moment. You don't always win everything; you have to be ready," he added.
The head of AFA stressed that the objective is to consolidate a model that prioritizes stability and planning, taking advantage of the context to continue boosting Argentine football.
