Javier Milei will receive Ecuador's President, Daniel Noboa, at the Casa Rosada.

President Javier Milei will receive his Ecuadorian counterpart, Daniel Noboa, at Casa Rosada on August 21 as part of an official visit by the South American leader. Noboa had already been in Argentina to attend the inauguration of the libertarian leader.

The confirmation came from the Argentine Presidency, although Quito had been considering the possibility of the trip for weeks. Expectations are high, since Milei and Noboa consider each other key allies in the region.

Both maintain a close relationship with Donald Trump's administration. In fact, the U.S. leader included them, along with Salvadoran Nayib Bukele, as the only Latin American representatives invited to his inauguration ceremony on January 20 in Washington. They even shared a spot at a religious ceremony prior to the official event.

This connection with the White House, in both cases, seeks to strengthen their position both internationally and domestically. Noboa, for example, requested support from the United States to confront drug trafficking in his country, while Milei received favorable gestures in economic matters, such as support in negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Argentina and Ecuador also share guidelines on tariff and trade policy. Both administrations have already held meetings with U.S. officials to accelerate the reduction of tariffs.

Milei had already received Noboa during his presidential inauguration, an occasion on which the Ecuadorian participated in both the ceremony at Congress, where the presidential sash was handed over, and the speech the libertarian delivered to his supporters outside the building.

Meanwhile, in Ecuador's recent presidential elections, current president Daniel Noboa achieved a major victory after defeating the communist Luisa González in the runoff.
