The weekend of the Brazilian Grand Prix was one of complete joy for Alpine: Franco Colapinto was confirmed as a full-time driver for 2026, the A525 showed signs of recovery, and Pierre Gasly scored points for the championship. However, while the celebration moved to the Interlagos paddock, the situation in France was completely different: the team suffered a break-in as brief as it was enigmatic.
According to the newspaper Le Parisien, two individuals entered the Alpine-Renault engine factory on Monday night, located in Viry-Châtillon, about 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) from the center of Paris. The criminals broke a window in the main hall to access the building and, once inside, did not stop on the ground floor but went directly to the first floor, where the executive and management offices of the Formula 1 team are located.
According to police sources, the intruders forced several doors and inspected the facilities for approximately five minutes, without causing material damage or stealing any objects. "Nothing was stolen. Everything is fine. There were no employees present at that time. There was no theft," a source close to Alpine confirmed to the French media outlet.
