Union threatened: They left a grenade and an intimidating note at the club's headquarters
The 'Tatengue' received a threat to its board of directors in the early morning, which has already alerted the authorities.
During the early hours of this Wednesday, March 5, the headquarters of Unión woke up to a serious incident that caused unrest. A suspicious package was found on a nearby sidewalk, on López y Planes Avenue at 3500, and after being inspected by explosives specialists, it was determined that the mysterious box contained a harassment grenade in good condition and a note with a threat directed at the club's board of directors.

The paper, allegedly attributed to Unión's barrabrava, said: "Either we all get in or the next one explodes," and specifically mentioned "Fabián" and "Adrián" Galeano, urging them to "stop sending the cops."
The discovery occurred around 2 a.m., when a 911 call alerted authorities about the presence of the suspicious package. Officers from the Motorized Brigade and a specialized explosives team arrived at the scene and, following security protocol, ruled out the risk of the grenade's activation.

In light of this event, the prosecution initiated an investigation to identify those responsible for this threat and determine the motivations behind it, while the club's authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the matter. More information is expected in the coming hours regarding the measures that will be taken to ensure the safety of the institution's members and fans.
This incident adds to a series of violent events related to soccer in the region, increasing concerns about safety in the sports field, and demonstrates the need to comprehensively address the issue of violence in Argentine soccer, involving clubs, authorities, and society in general to eradicate these types of behaviors that undermine the essence of the sport.
