Eleven narcos died this Tuesday after a series of attacks carried out by United States military forces against three vessels linked to drug trafficking in the waters of the eastern Pacific and the Caribbean.
The operations are part of the campaign launched in September 2025 by United States Southern Command, aimed at dismantling maritime routes used by criminal organizations for drug trafficking toward North America.
Three blows in key maritime corridors
According to official data, four narcos died in a first speedboat intercepted in the eastern Pacific, another four in a second vessel in the same region, and three more in a boat attacked in the Caribbean.
Images released by Southern Command show that, in at least two cases, the vessels were stationary at the moment they were hit, while a third was sailing at high speed.

Since the beginning of the offensive, United States forces have carried out more than 40 attacks in maritime corridors considered strategic for organized crime. According to official figures, the operations have left at least 145 narcos dead since September 2025.
Commander Francis Donovan, who is in charge of the "Spear of the South" Task Force, is currently directing the operations in the region.
Pressure strategy against cartels
President Donald Trump has defined the offensive as part of an "armed conflict" against cartels in Latin America and keeps that the actions seek to curb the flow of drugs into United States territory.
As part of the strategy, Washington reinforced its naval and air presence in international waters of the Caribbean and the eastern Pacific, including areas near Venezuela, where recent operations against narco speedboats have also been reported.

In addition to the direct fight against drug trafficking, the military deployment coincides with measures of economic and diplomatic pressure in the region. In parallel, the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford was sent to the Middle East along with several destroyers, expanding the global projection of United States forces.
Ongoing offensive
United States authorities maintain that keeping pressure on maritime routes is key to weakening the financial and logistical structures of the cartels. The strategy remains active and is part of a broader regional security framework.
