President Donald Trump announced on Monday that the Armed Forces of the United States carried out an attack against a vessel belonging to a Venezuelan drug cartel bound for U.S. territory. This is the second operation of this kind in recent weeks against ships linked to drug trafficking.
Trump stated that three narco-terrorists died during the operation, which reportedly took place in international waters. “This morning, following my orders, United States Military Forces carried out a SECOND Kinetic Strike against extraordinarily violent, positively identified drug cartels and narco-terrorists in SOUTHCOM's area of responsibility,” wrote the former president on his Truth Social account.

He added that “These extremely violent drug cartels REPRESENT A THREAT to the National Security, Foreign Policy, and vital interests of the United States.” It is worth noting that Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) is the military structure operating in 31 countries in South America, Central America, and the Caribbean.
