The Vin Diesel saga faces an unexpected setback. Fast & Furious 11, planned as a direct conclusion to Fast & Furious X, still hasn't received the green light from Universal.
The studio wants to avoid repeating the high budget of the tenth installment and is demanding significant cuts before approving the continuation.

The high cost of Fast & Furious X and its consequences
Fast & Furious X became the most expensive film in the saga, with a budget of 340 million dollars. Despite grossing 725 million worldwide, profitability was minimal, according to Forbes.
Universal wants to avoid another misstep and is seeking to keep the sequel under 200 million dollars, thus reducing about 140 million compared to the previous installment.
Mandatory cuts to get back on the road
To comply with the financial plan, filming in exotic locations will have to be limited, the cast reduced, and impossible stunts scaled back, Forbes detailed.

Vin Diesel assures that the film will return to its urban roots, with street races and a more intimate focus on the Toretto family. However, some analysts believe that this is also a strategy to convince Universal.
