In its next match with Tigre, Millonario will sell beer only in VIP sections, with limited spots, mandatory presale and a strong control operation
River will implement an unprecedented measure in Argentine soccer. Starting next Saturday, in the match against Tigre for the fourth round of Zone B of the Apertura Tournament, Millonario will allow the sale of beer with alcohol at the Monumental stadium. The measure will be a pilot test, with multiple restrictions and under a total control system, authorized by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires.
The initiative was driven by the club itselfand aims to test a management model aligned with international standards. The sale will be enabled only in preferential sectors and will not extend to the general public. Each person will be able to purchase a maximum of two half-liter beers, at a price of 7,000 pesos per unit, through an exclusive presale via RiverID.

According to a formal note that River sent to the GCBA, the test will be "extremely controlled, limited to VIP sectors, with full traceability and aligned with international standards for the management of sporting events". The authorized spaces, all with limited capacity, access control, and permanent supervision, will be:

The protocol includes a series of safety measures: visible signage with consumption rules, exclusive turnstiles, circulation routes independent from the general public, identification wristbands, identity and age verification at each access point, and internal procedures in case of violations.
In addition, the entry or consumption of alcohol in the general stands will be absolutely prohibited and there will be permanent monitoring and mandatory breathalyzer tests at the exit of the stadium.

It should be clarified that River was chosen for this test because of the infrastructure and safety specifications of the Monumental (it is the only stadium in the country with FaceID) and because of its recent record without violence.
The club emphasizes that this is a limited and assessable experience that could set a precedent in local soccer and bring the Monumental closer to common practices in European and American leagues, where the sale of alcohol in stadiums operates under strict regulatory frameworks.
The conditions of purchase
Mandatory presale through RiverID, available until eight hours before the match.
Nominal purchase, with identity and age verification.
Only for people over 18 years of age.
A maximum of 2 beers per person.
In boxes, the purchase will be handled by the administrator, according to the number of assigned seats.
In hospitality, additional on-site sales will be allowed, always controlled by an app that verifies individual limits.
