Amid currency tensions and pressure on reserves, the United States government has confirmed that it is willing to provide assistance to Argentina to strengthen the Central Bank and ensure macroeconomic stability. The announcement was made by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who emphasized that Washington "will do whatever is necessary to support Javier Milei's government."
Bessent, an official in Donald Trump's administration, highlighted that "all options for stabilization are on the table." Among them, he mentioned possible currency swap lines, direct dollar purchases, and operations with sovereign debt through the U.S. Exchange Stabilization Fund. According to the Treasury, Argentina is considered a country of "systemic importance" in Latin America and a strategic ally of the United States.

Secretary Bessent stated that they have full confidence in the economic reforms and fiscal adjustment being carried out by the libertarian government. "Opportunities for private investment in Argentina remain broad, and Argentina will be great again," he said, in a phrase that reinforces the political and economic alignment with Milei.
