Milan bid farewell with deep emotion to designer Giorgio Armani, an absolute icon of Italian fashion, who passed away last Thursday at the age of 91 at his residence, surrounded by his loved ones.
Over the weekend, two ceremonies were held to honor his legacy: a public farewell that brought together thousands of admirers and a private ceremony intended for his inner circle.
The farewell took place at the iconic Armani Teatro, the heart of his creative universe. At the request of the family and the Armani group, the venue's doors were opened on Saturday and Sunday to allow the public to come and pay tribute.

The ceremony was held with a closed casket, and from the first images released, one could perceive the sober and elegant tone of the setting, true to the designer's style.
Among the celebrities present in Milan were Donatella Versace—an intimate friend and colleague of the designer—and Spanish actor Miguel Ángel Silvestre, who was an ambassador for one of the brand's most recognized fragrances.
However, a presence especially significant for the Argentine public was that of Valeria Mazza, who arrived accompanied by her husband, businessman Alejandro Gravier.
The model, who was one of Armani's undisputed muses in the 1990s, appeared visibly moved and shared heartfelt words: "He was a great friend, his death took me by surprise. He was elegant, had a lot of style, a great professional, a passionate lover of fashion. He was not only important in my career, but he also dressed Ale and me for our wedding."

Mazza and Armani shared a professional and personal relationship that endured over time. The Argentine model was the face of several of his campaigns and walked on numerous occasions for the Italian house, establishing a bond that transcended the runways.
After the news of his death became known, the Armani maison issued an official statement: "With infinite sadness, we announce the passing of its creator, founder, and tireless driving force."
In that same message, the brand made clear its intention to continue with the vision that the designer built over more than four decades: "Today, with deep emotion, we feel the void left by the one who founded and nurtured this family with vision, passion, and dedication, but it is precisely in his spirit that we, the employees and family members who have always worked alongside Mr. Armani, commit ourselves to protect what he built and to carry his company forward in his memory, with respect, responsibility, and love."
