The Government of Javier Milei announced that the Venezuelan regime honored the Argentine rescue team deployed in the areas affected by the earthquake, one week after the start of the humanitarian mission.
“Today marks one week since our humanitarian assistance team arrived in Venezuela,” stated Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno on his social media, who particularly emphasized that the national rescuers were recognized by local authorities.
In this regard, he affirmed: “The Argentine team has been the 2nd most present on the ground in the world during this first stage and today participated in a ceremony of recognition and decoration by the Venezuelan government.”
The official recognition took place within the framework of the sustained work being carried out by Argentine teams on the ground, composed of rescuers from the USAR ARG-12 and 13 Brigades, deployed by the Federal Emergency Agency of the Ministry of National Security, along with military brigades sent by the Ministry of Defense, equipped with specialized dogs and search technology.
Additionally, the operation includes the participation of the White Helmets and consular personnel from the Foreign Ministry, who provide assistance to Argentine citizens affected by the disaster. This comprehensive deployment was one of the factors that allowed Argentina to position itself among the countries with the greatest presence in the first stage of the emergency.
