The Government of Javier Milei announced that the Venezuelan regime honored the Argentine rescue team deployed in the areas affected by the earthquake, one week after the start of the humanitarian mission.

“Today marks one week since our humanitarian assistance team arrived in Venezuela,” stated Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno on his social media, who particularly emphasized that the national rescuers were recognized by local authorities.

In this regard, he affirmed: “The Argentine team has been the 2nd most present on the ground in the world during this first stage and today participated in a ceremony of recognition and decoration by the Venezuelan government.”

The official recognition took place within the framework of the sustained work being carried out by Argentine teams on the ground, composed of rescuers from the USAR ARG-12 and 13 Brigades, deployed by the Federal Emergency Agency of the Ministry of National Security, along with military brigades sent by the Ministry of Defense, equipped with specialized dogs and search technology.

Additionally, the operation includes the participation of the White Helmets and consular personnel from the Foreign Ministry, who provide assistance to Argentine citizens affected by the disaster. This comprehensive deployment was one of the factors that allowed Argentina to position itself among the countries with the greatest presence in the first stage of the emergency.

More humanitarian aid

In parallel to the recognition, the Government of Javier Milei confirmed that assistance will continue to expand. “Today we will send three additional flights from our Air Force with the USAR ARG-10 Brigades from Córdoba and USAR ARG-15 from Santa Fe to relieve teams and continue our aid,” detailed Quirno.

The foreign minister also anticipated new lines of cooperation with the Venezuelan regime, focused on the health sector. “We have offered and are also coordinating with Venezuelan authorities for support with medical teams from the Ministry of Health,” he explained.

In his message, the official included a thank you to the companies that collaborated with the logistics of the operation. “A special thanks to Aerolíneas Argentinas for their support with planes to transport us and to YPF for contributing fuel for the mission on behalf of their Venezuelan employees,” he expressed.

The recognition by the Venezuelan regime occurs in a context of strong international presence in the affected area, where various countries deployed rescue teams. In this scenario, the Milei Government highlighted the prominence of its brigades, both for their volume and operational capacity.

Quirno's statement concluded with a slogan that summarizes the official positioning in response to the emergency: “ARGENTINA SOLIDARIA.”
