Vice President Victoria Villarruel presided yesterday, together with the ultra-Kirchnerist dictator from Formosa Gildo Insfrán, over the event for the "Day of the Formosan Hero" in an official ceremony that celebrated the 50th anniversary of the defense of the Monte 29 Infantry Regiment.
Subsequently, both held a private meeting. The image was shared by Insfrán himself, who posted it on his X account, highlighting the presence of the Senate president at his side.

During the ceremony, the provincial dictator paid tribute to the protagonists of that day, stating: “Our deepest tribute to the soldiers and police officers who participated in that day, giving their lives in the line of duty.”
Villarruel's presence alongside the governor takes on a particular symbolic value, since Insfrán is one of the toughest Kirchnerist leaders, leading the province since 1999, while the vice president keeps a distant relationship with President Javier Milei.

According to reports, Villarruel attended the event accompanied by her Chief of Staff of Advisors, Mario “Pato” Russo. On the platform, she was seated next to Vice Governor Eber Solís and National Senator José Mayans, president of the Unión por la Patria bloc in the Upper House and one of the most critical Kirchnerist figures of Milei's Government.
This time, the Day of the Formosan Hero was celebrated, established by Provincial Law No. 1612 in tribute to the soldiers and the police officer who lost their lives “in defense of the Nation's Constitution and of RIM 29.” It is worth recalling that this regulation was enacted by the Honorable Legislature of Formosa at the same time that Law No. 1395 was repealed, which had previously designated this date as the “Day of the Formosan Soldier.”
