On social media, Thelma Fardin was harshly criticized for her video regarding the case against Darthés.
Users and Yanina Latorre questioned the format and the timing chosen to publish the video
Kirchnerist actress Thelma Fardin returned to the center of controversy after posting a video on social media to talk about the ruling against Juan Darthés. The problem was not only what she said, but how she said it: with a carefully produced video, Pinterest-like aesthetics, and a Meghan Markle style, in the midst of a still uncertain judicial context.
The decision to record this clip, instead of a sober statement, sparked criticism. Yanina Latorre was the most visible voice of disapproval, but not the only one: on X (formerly Twitter), the discontent was echoed in dozens of messages that questioned her approach and saw it as an unnecessary performance.

A statement with aesthetics and script
In the video, just over two minutes long, Fardin recreated "a normal day in her life" while looking at the camera and stating: "I won. The fact is proven." The scene, with neat editing and acting, was interpreted by many as a way to minimize the seriousness of the case.

The style and production, closer to a lifestyle spot than a judicial message, evoke the Meghan Markle touch:careful aesthetics, personal narrative, and shots designed to look good on social media. A format that, far from adding seriousness, for many ended up detracting from the weight of the accusation.
This tone contrasted with a fact that is not minor: a few weeks ago it emerged that Juan Darthés's defense prepared to give a new twist to the case that sentenced him to six years in prison in Brazil. According to reports, his lawyers are about to file a request to annul the trial, based on the alleged involvement of an Argentine expert recently questioned for his role in a network of false accusations.

Journalist Pablo Layús reported in Intrusos that the attorneys "are going all out" to overturn the sentence handed down by the Federal Regional Court of São Paulo. The actor, whose real name is Juan Pacífico Dabul, was convicted of sexual abuse in March 2024, after a lengthy process initiated by Fardin's complaint.
Latorre, social media, and the same question: why did she do it?
On Sálvese Quien Pueda, Yanina Latorre was blunt: "I believe everything Thelma says, what she went through, what she suffered. But the accusation is so harsh that I think she trivializes it. I don't like how she communicates."

Ángel de Brito, a guest on the show, suggested that the problem was the image: "Should she have appeared in clothes without a brand?" Latorre replied: "Made up, edited, everything cut. I don't like the video. She did the same thing as the first time: in a hotel room, sitting. For me, she's a selective feminist."

On social media, the criticism focused on the same point:
- "Are you going to show solidarity or march for Julieta Prandi? Surely not."
- "The way doesn't matter, the point is that nobody believes you, Thelma."
- "Let it go, the only thing you and the feminazis have achieved is that nobody believes you."
The controversy not only exposes the debate about how to communicate sensitive judicial cases, but also leaves an uncomfortable question hanging: did Fardin seek to inform or to capitalize on her judicial victory in a personal marketing package, just when her sentence could be at risk?
