This Friday, the 2025 edition of Expo Traslasierra will begin in Villa Dolores, an exhibition that brings together the agricultural, commercial, institutional, and cultural sectors. The initiative, organized by the Sociedad Rural del Oeste de Córdoba with support from the municipality, brings together companies and entrepreneurs from across the region. The event will continue on Saturday with multiple activities open to the public.
The vice president of the organization, Leandro Quinzaños, emphasized that the proposal "is not limited to the agro-industrial sector, but also integrates tourism, commerce, and culture." On the three-hectare (7.4 acres) site, 85 stands are distributed with 67 companies, in addition to public and private organizations. "We have doubled the number of exhibitors, and that fills us with pride," stated the rural leader.
Visitors will be able to enjoy food courts, recreational spaces, and artistic offerings throughout the day. Admission is free, and there will be complimentary transportation from the city center. "This is an activity designed for all ages, with a diverse and accessible offering," added Quinzaños.

Production, technology, and attractions for the whole family
The program includes conferences, training sessions, and competitions, among them a grilling contest and a dog festival. There will also be a fashion show, musical performances, and technical talks on agricultural production and technology. Gaspar Larghi, president of the Sociedad Rural, indicated that more than 60 bovine breeders and 30 pets will participate, although no birds will be present due to health precautions.
Larghi stressed that "the exhibition has grown in both quantity and quality, with national companies and a strong focus on technological innovation." He also highlighted that the exhibition allows the rural sector to connect with the community and bring rural life closer to an urban audience. "We want people to see the work, the effort, and the evolution of the productive sector," he stated.
Consolidated as a regional event, Expo Traslasierra has become a platform for economic and social exchange. Its goal is to boost the local economy and strengthen ties among producers, institutions, and consumers. The 2025 edition aims to surpass the attendance figures of previous years, which brought together thousands of visitors.

Northwest Córdoba demands development and infrastructure
Larghi explained that the so-called "northwest arc" faces historical challenges that limit the sector's growth. "We have roads that have gone more than 60 years without improvements; we need infrastructure and political support," he remarked. Several rural societies in the area decided to separate from Cartez due to a lack of responses and differences with the productive reality of the humid pampas.
Currently, 106 rural societies make up this new bloc, which covers 14 of the 26 departments of Córdoba. "Since then, we have made significant progress, achieved dialogue with the provincial government, and addressed issues such as the native forest," said Larghi. According to the leader, northern Córdoba requires differentiated policies that recognize its diversity and limitations.
"The hectares (acres) with native forest are in our areas; we want to protect them, but with a more flexible approach to land use," he demanded. Larghi warned that the restrictions prevent clearing weeds or opening roads to fight fires. "It can't be that everything is untouchable; we need a balance between conservation and production," he concluded.
