The Villano broke the silence about his relationship with Catalina Gorostidi
The media conflict began when Cata posted a video on her Instagram account
After the strong statement by Catalina Gorostidi on social media, the cumbia singer known as El Villano decided to share his version of the relationship he had with the former Big Brother contestant. Amid rumors, denials, and a shared music video, the artist claimed that there was never a romantic link between them and that it was all part of a promotional strategy.
The media conflict began when Cata, recently eliminated from the reality show, posted a video on her Instagram account in which she strongly denied having anything more than a professional relationship with the singer. "I was never with him, I didn't even get to kiss him, never," she stated in her statement, in which she also referred to the speculations that arose after the HIV diagnosis that El Villano publicly shared.

Far from letting the issue go, the musician decided to clarify things on the DDM program (América TV). "I remember we went dancing at Bresh and after being there, it seemed like she was into me," he recounted, pointing out that it was that outing that caused the rumors. However, he clarified that it had all been part of a marketing campaign to promote his song Mi cuerito, whose music video featured Gorostidi.
"We released a song with her. To film some shots, I would go to the show's audience or kiss the TV. It was all marketing," explained El Villano, revealing that it was all a planned promotional move, with no intention of starting a real romantic relationship.

The controversy grew when Catalina left the Big Brother house and, according to the artist, had different expectations. "She got mad because when she left the house, she had an intention with me. I told her I had my partner, that I was elsewhere," he stated, hinting that the relationship didn't progress due to his decision.
Mariana Fabbiani, host of DDM, also intervened in the debate by pointing out a phrase that caused discomfort: "She said 'I didn't even give him a kiss,' as if that could have infected her. I didn't like that," she expressed, referring to the stigma that still exists around HIV.
In an attempt to close the chapter, El Villano assured he held no grudges and justified Gorostidi's words: "I understood her because we really didn't even kiss. She got mad at me because nothing happened and because of that small marketing campaign that made it seem like I was fully in love with her."
