Violent clash between Estudiantes and Gimnasia fans outside a hospital

The fight occurred near the Gonnet hospital and reportedly began at the intersection of 14th and 36th streets, where a 45-year-old man was stabbed

This Tuesday, moments of extreme tension were experienced around the San Roque Hospital in Gonnet, La Plata, when hooligans from Estudiantes and Gimnasia clashed with gunfire. So far, 6 people have been confirmed injured, including Cristian "El Volador" Camilleri, leader of the "Lobo" faction.

According to different sources, the fight originated in the center of the Buenos Aires capital, near Plaza San Martín, where the local government was holding an inauguration ceremony. In that context, members of both fan groups crossed paths and the conflict began.

The dispute continued at the intersection of 14 and 36, where a 45-year-old man, identified as Fernando Nicolás Sanconi, a member of the Gimnasia hooligans, was brutally attacked and suffered a stab wound to one of his legs. His companions transported him in a private truck to the Gonnet Hospital, where he was admitted.

Minutes later, the violence moved to the vicinity of the health center, as the injured man's rivals reportedly went to the place intending to continue the confrontation. A hospital security camera recorded the moment of the clash between both groups of hooligans.

"About 200 arrived in trucks and cars, with weapons, sticks, and iron bars. They hit my husband and other guys who were waiting for the injured one," said Silvina, the wife of one of the injured. Additionally, according to her testimony, the strikers belong to a faction of the UOCRA, led by the leader Iván Tobar.

In the midst of the confusion, a fierce battle broke out. The confrontation occurred in the presence of health personnel and patients' relatives, who had to lie on the floor to protect themselves. "They hit my husband with an ax. They were very violent," added Silvina.

After several minutes of chaos, the strikers left the hospital, leaving behind a Fiat Uno (license plate LGE 218), which was seized by the police as part of the investigation.

The hospital confirmed that so far six people have been confirmed injured by gunfire, who are receiving medical attention. According to the police report, among the injured is Cristian "El Volador" Camilleri, head of the Gimnasia hooligans, who suffered stab wounds to his hands, head, and a leg.

The case was labeled as "injuries and investigation of an offense," and is under the jurisdiction of UFI No. 03 of the Judicial Department of La Plata, with prosecutor Gonzalo Petit Bosnic leading the investigation. Meanwhile, expert reports have already been ordered to clarify what happened in this violent incident.
