The 'blue league' demonstrates how socialism attempts to control justice to perpetuate itself in power

The Ministry of Government spoke out strongly about the recent events related to the Ligados case, in which the State Attorney General's Office filed charges against several former councilors of the Citizen Participation and Social Control Council (CPCCS) for alleged illicit association.

The Ministry's official statement, titled "“No to the Blue Coup!”", expresses a resounding rejection of attempts to manipulate justice by the so-called "blue league," a group linked to the old politics. This statement reinforces Daniel Noboa's Government's commitment to legality and transparency.

The State portfolio assured that the recent discoveries surrounding the criminal plot show the close relationship between actors of the traditional politics and some key State institutions, which, according to the Government, seeks to destabilize the current democratic regime.

Additionally, it is highlighted that the Noboa administration's main objective is to ensure that all decisions are made with total transparency, in favor of the Ecuadorian people. "“We will not allow dark interests to distort the pillars of our democracy”, the Ministry stated in its declaration.

The Ligados case, involving former councilors Eduardo Franco Loor, Augusto Verduga, Yadira Saltos, and Nicole Bonifaz, emerged after the complaint filed by the current Superintendent of Banks, Roberto Romero von Buchwald.

The complaint refers to internal manipulation within the CPCCS to appoint Raúl González as Superintendent of Banks, instead of Romero. This process is a clear example of the maneuvers that have been denounced as attempts to perpetuate power through illicit practices and the control of essential institutions.

Daniel Noboa's Government reaffirms its stance of not allowing the practices of the old politics to subvert the democratic order, committing to continue fighting for transparency, justice, and respect for the laws.
