Who was Florencia Revah, the young woman murdered in San Antonio de Areco

She was 31 years old, worked in sales, and had reported her partner for violence

Florencia Revah was 31 years old and was remembered by those close to her as a hardworking, supportive woman with a kind character. After the pandemic, she dedicated herself to selling cars at a dealership on Del Libertador Avenue in the City of Buenos Aires. Later, she decided to change fields and began working in the marketing of fans.

Friends and colleagues described that she used to be reserved in her personal life.  "She was very efficient at her job, a good person, and had to find ways to use social media in secret because he controlled her," a close source recounted.

Florencia's life before the crime

Florencia lived with Esteban Alejandro Suárez in Tigre, but in 2021 she reported him for gender-based violence. At that time, she requested his removal from the home and a restraining order. Despite those measures, the couple resumed their relationship intermittently, in a relationship marked by jealousy and violence.

A former coworker recalled that Revah had already experienced toxic romantic relationships in the past.  "She was always very careful with her schedule. She went straight from work to her house to avoid conflicts," he recounted.

The discovery and judicial investigation

On Sunday, a neighbor alerted 911 about a suspicious car parked on a rural road in San Antonio de Areco, just a few meters from National Route 8. Inside the Chevrolet Onix were found the bodies of Florencia and Suárez.

The young woman had gunshot wounds, one of them in her neck. In the back seat of the vehicle, a Bersa pistol with a laser sight was seized, as well as cartridges and spent shells. The man had a head wound, which investigators considered self-inflicted.

The main hypothesis pointed to a femicide followed by suicide.  "Unless other evidence emerges, it is a practically closed case," sources from the investigation indicated.

The mayor of San Antonio de Areco, Francisco Ratto, confirmed that the victims were from Tigre and had no connection to the locality. The local Security Secretary added that Suárez may have tried to set the vehicle on fire after the attack, although he ultimately committed suicide inside the car.

The case remained in the hands of prosecutor Luis Gargagno, from the Judicial Department of Mercedes, who classified it as "the homicide of a woman committed by a man in the context of gender-based violence."
