Who won the 'destroyers' championship in F1 2025 and in which position did Colapinto finish?

Who won the 'destroyers' championship in F1 2025 and in which position did Colapinto finish?
The most "destructive" drivers and teams for 2025 have been revealed

After the Abu Dhabi GP, the drivers and teams that spent the most on repairs during the season were revealed

While Lando Norris and McLaren celebrate the official titles of the 2025 season, there is another table that closes the season with very different protagonists: the "destroyers" championship. An uncomfortable ranking, based on repair cost estimates, that reveals which drivers and teams spent the most budget during the year.

Gabriel Bortoleto was the "undesired champion" of 2025. The Brazilian from Kick Sauber accumulated almost four million dollars in damages, largely due to the severe impact at the Brazilian GP, which alone cost his team about 2,359,000 dollars. Just behind was Yuki Tsunoda, who ended his time at Red Bull racking up 3.5 million. The brand new world champion, Norris, also appears on the podium, although in this case with almost three million spent due to his incidents.

Among the teams, the title for economic disaster went to Alpine. The combined damages of Pierre Gasly, Jack Doohan, and Franco Colapinto totaled just over 5.3 million dollars. The figure includes the six races Doohan completed before being replaced by the Argentine. Behind them were McLaren and Kick Sauber, both above five million.

Meanwhile, Colapinto finished ninth among the drivers, with a total close to two million dollars. His great sporting achievement, having completed all the main races of the season, something he only achieved alongside George Russell, was not enough to prevent crashes, such as the one in the Sprint in São Paulo, from increasing his statistics. Doohan, on the other hand, needed only half a dozen Grands Prix to surpass 2.1 million, driven by the tremendous accident at Suzuka with the DRS open in the middle of a corner: 1,342,000 dollars in a single impact.

The ranking also leaves some curiosities at the top of the grid. Charles Leclerc, with Ferrari, is fifth (2.2 million) and Oscar Piastri sixth (2.1 million). At the other end are the most "careful": Max Verstappen finished at the bottom with just 450 thousand dollars, followed by Russell with 475 thousand and Esteban Ocon with 629 thousand.

There are no celebrations, no champagne, no podium. But Formula 1 is also measured in budgets. In this parallel ranking, some names would have preferred not to appear.
